Introduction
This programme is specifically developed for candidates who wish to work is Hospitality or Catering Industry. This programme is designed to meet the demand of the employers in Food and Beverage Operation around the world.
This programme also provides routes for the students to Degree level. The structure of the programme designed for candidates who will progress their career into upper management level in coming future. This programme is recognized well worldwide and creates entry exemption in overseas universities.
Programme structure and course outline
Subjects covered in the programme
- Hospitality Marketing
- Human Resource Management in Hospitality Industry
- Front Office Management
- Food and Beverage Cost Control
- Event and Convention Management
- International Hotel Management
- Compulsory : Business Communication
Six (6) months of practical training includes:
- Front Office and housekeeping
- Human Resource and Training Department
- Food and Beverage Department
- F&B purchasing department
- Fine Dining restaurant
Teaching methodology and assessment
- Qualified and experienced Trainers or Lecturers will conduct the program in classroom method.
- There will be assignments, classroom and practical exercises for each subject
- Examination will be held twice in a year (May and November) in both theory and practical method.
- All classes will be conducted in English.
Programme duration
- Students will undergo six (6) months of classroom lecture and another six (6) months of practical training in selected hotels or restaurants arranged by the management.
Examination Board
- The examination board comprises of Hospitality Practitioners like Hoteliers Hotel Trainers, and Senior Managers, Restaurant Managers, External Hospitality School Lecturer who provide vocational training in work related qualifications in the areas of business industry.
- The examination criteria are based on written, and practical assessment.
This course prepares the students for the City and Guilds of London Examination. Students have the option to take this external examination.
Opportunities
- Get job placement as junior management in International Hotels, Resorts and Casinos.
- Or work as Management Trainee in a private, exclusive, fast food restaurants and beverage outlets.
- Get promoted within the service and hospitality into a higher management level.
- Further studies into Advance Degree level.
